Support Model

Communities In Schools (CIS) Model

The cornerstone of the CIS model is the CIS Site Coordinator, who connects students and their families to critical community resources tailored to individual and local needs. The Site Coordinator assesses the needs of the school and students, creates a team to develop a site plan, facilitates the implementation of the plan, and evaluates the services provided to ensure that the services are effective and have the desired results. All CIS Site Coordinators go through a certification process that includes the history of CIS, conducting a needs assessment, developing a strong site team, engaging the site team in site planning, implementing effective service coordination, tracking services, and evaluating and reporting results. Site Coordinators utilize CIS' internal data management system to track students and services. Visit Our Unique Model for more information or download Our Model in PDF format.
